MachinistEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and work instructions to determine product specifications, dimensions, tolerances, tooling requirements, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and sequence of operations.Set up and operate machine equipment, including fixtures and feeding devices, according to job specifications.Monitor machining operations and inspect workpieces to ensure finished parts meet required specifications, quality standards, and tolerances.Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting on equipment; identify and report equipment or machine repair needs.Set up and operate welding equipment and perform light welding and repair work as needed.Receive incoming materials and shipments, unload trucks, inspect materials for damage, verify packing slips, and confirm quantities against purchase orders.Monitor and maintain steel and raw material inventory, ensuring the correct materials are staged and delivered to the appropriate work centers when needed.Pick, cut, and prepare materials according to blueprints, pick lists, production orders, and bills of materials (BOMs).Move and stage raw materials, parts, and supplies in designated warehouses, production, or assembly locations using appropriate material-handling equipment.Maintain accurate inventory records by entering receipts, material movements, and cycle-count adjustments into the ERP system.Follow all company safety policies, quality-system requirements, work procedures, and housekeeping standards.Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Work Environment: Work near moving mechanical parts. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
